King and Queens: When we love the least of these

What comes to mind when you think of a king or queen? Do you think power? Do you think wealth? Do you think beauty?

When I think about what defines a king or queen I think of the word “blessed.” They are blessed to have riches, power, and the availability of ever need. They are set on a pedestal, raised above all that is in their kingdom. They are IMPORTANT!

The past couple of weeks I have visited our local Children’s home, Bridge of Hope. I have bonded with the children. I have cried over the children! I prayed for the outcome of each to be great! I feel these visits have helped me heal and have used my hurt to help others. I have shared my hope and faith with some of the children in hopes of changing a heart or two.

As I set here and write this blog I get sad. I am sad because I want to take them all home. I want to help change their lives. I want to share my BLESSINGS with them. I want to make them feel IMPORTANT just like a king or queen. Just like Jesus makes us feel when we are walking with him; safe and secure.

I believe we were all made to love these children “the orphans” or ” the least of these.” It is not a suggestion, but a command. This command just gets louder and louder in my heart. We are to love them and treat them like Kings and Queens. Raising them up to be conquerors  over this cruel world and leading them to victory. Victory not only over their past, but also in Jesus.

I am asking to all that read this blog please pray for our local orphans and foster children. Pray for those who are willing to adopt and take these children in. Pray that one day these children will find a home that presents the gospel.

I am praying for all of my dearest friends that are caring for our little “kings” and”queens”. Don’t lose heart. Stay diligent!!

I love this song by Audio Adrenaline. It makes this blog a little clearer!!

“Kings & Queens”

Little hands, shoeless feet, lonely eyes looking back at me
Will we leave behind the innocent to grieve
On the road, on the run when their lives have only begun
These could be our daughters and our sons
And just like a drum I can hear their hearts beating
I know my God won’t let them be defeated
Every child has a dream to belong and be loved

[Chorus:]
Boys become kings, girls will be queens
Wrapped in Your majesty
When we love, when we love the least of these
Then they will be brave and free
Shout Your name in victory
When we love, when we love the least of these
When we love the least of these

Break our hearts once again
Help us to remember when
We were only children hoping for a friend
Won’t you look around
These are the lives that the world has forgotten
Waiting for doors of our hearts and our homes to open

[Chorus]

If not us, who will be like Jesus
To the least of these
If not us tell me who will be like Jesus
Like Jesus
To the least of these

Boys become kings, girls will be queens
Wrapped in Your majesty
When we love, when we love the least of these
Then they will be brave and free, shout Your name in victory
When we love, when we love the least of these
We will love the least of these
We will love the least of these
We will love the least of these
We will love the least of these
We will love the least of these

Love yall,

Lacey
