I have always heard that children are the most sensitive when it comes to the spiritual world. I have heard that their hearts are pure and less distracted by worldly things. I have also heard that God can use a child for his will and glory.

Last night as Sawyer and Fran sat in the kitchen eating dinner the subject of their daddy arose. They were talking about how much they missed him and that sometimes they think of him at the strangest times. I explained to them that the feelings they have are natural and Okay to feel. That sometimes sad feelings come at the most inconvenient times. I also explained that sometimes things trigger our memory.

As we were talking, Fran smiled very big and said “mom, I had a dream about daddy.” I replied “oh, what was it about?” Fran said, “Well daddy was talking and told me he loved his kids.” I said “what did daddy look like?” She said “LIKE DADDY!” She was very matter of fact. I said “well what was he doing?” She said so matter of fact, “he was walking with Jesus and God, they were talking, and daddy told them he loves his kids.” You could have heard a pin drop. I said “what did Jesus look like?” Fran said, “mom, he had on this red thing (moving her hand vertical on her chest) and a white shirt. He also had brown sandals on.” I said “well what did God look like?” Fran said “He looked like Jesus.”

I knew she was not making this up because she was so matter of fact and never hesitated when telling her story. My final question to her was “where were they walking?” Fran replied. “mom like a fairytale.” I saw fairies and red and blue butterflies.”  I thought to myself, were these fairies angels and the beautiful scenery of heaven? After that I did not ask anymore questions, because I knew that is all I needed to know. Fran had seen Jesus and Chad. I believed her and I knew that this dream, real or not, was from God.

How many times have we doubted the goodness of the Lord and questioned His actions? Maybe not questioned his love for us, but the reason for the loss or hurt.

No matter how many times I question the Lord, He always reassures me that its all gonna be okay. He never fails to Cleary MAKE me see that everything will be alright. He has this under control and one day it will all be explained. This dream proved to me that Heaven is a place where we can have great intimacy with Jesus and God. Chad was telling Jesus and God  how he loved his kids. Chad was being intimate with them, because he knew they cared. He was walking with them like friends.

Thank goodness for children and dreams. Thank goodness my children are sensitive to the things of heaven. Thank goodness Jesus chose my child to show me/us how close we can be to the Lord. We can be friends. And I assure you, MY friend Jesus walks with his children everyday.

Heaven is just a dream away.                          images
