Rain or Shine, He is Still God

Does anyone else feel as if they may float away? Like literally? Rain has been a hot topic where I live. We have had inches of rain. There is water everywhere, consuming every crease and crevice of the land in this part of the county. We are literally taking different roads and paths to get where we are supposed to be. We are all set in our ways and have the school route planned. Kinda puts a kink in our day and everyday routine.

I wanted to get some fresh air while it wasn’t flooding, and just so happen to hear the sound of rolling water. When I looked I noticed it was a ditch that was full of water. The water was draining into the pipe. But before the pipe it was streaming onto rocks, which made the most peaceful sound, like a stream in a peaceful forrest. I just stood and listened and enjoyed some good ole peace.

Rain has been the topic on social media, the news, and in the workplace. We are all have the same question, “why so much rain?” Why is God plaguing our land and farmland with all of these WET STUFF? “I want sun shine and blue skies.”

Well ,if you want me to be frank and my opinion,  (which I have the reputation for and I know you want to know😀)  because HE CAN!

I believe that God has His reasons for sending the “WET STUFF.” He sends the literal rain to cleanse the earth and make things new. HE refreshes the soil and the plants. He send water to the birds of the air and the animals of the land. HE provides for those that depend only on Him. HE also sends the rain to cleanse us. Maybe to help us rest or just take a break from the business of life.

Last night my family and I had a game night. We sat around the dinning room table and enjoyed the presence of each other. It was the rain, I believe, that put us in a mood to gather, eat popcorn, and be cozy. The rain gave  us time to refresh our relationships, because life can make these times together few and far. He also shows us that we are forgiven by the “WASHING” of His blood and His Mercy. HE sends the rain, any kind of rain, whether it is emotional, physical, or spiritual rain to show us that HE SENDS IT. HE wants us to depend on only HIM and he also wants us to know HE forgives and refreshes. He shows us that rain is a great representation of cleansing, HIS grace and HIS mercy.

Rain can change our plans. Im not talking literal rain, but roadblocks in our life. It can lead us on detours or other ways to get places. It can get us stuck or stink us. But Rain can also help us get back to where we need to be with relationships with Jesus, making us totally dependent on HIS boat to get us to the other side.

Rain can be scary. Heavy downpours and storms scare us and makes us rethink our plans and safety for our families. Rain can be seen as a tool for God to show mercy, grace, love, and His provision nature. Rain can also help us see that God never leaves us nor forsakes us. Because, when you wake up the next day and  see the sun shinning and the grass is as green as every, you know He is there and HE is good!

Whether we get 2 inches of rain or 100, God is still on His throne. He is there in the sunny summer days and there on the nasty spring days.  The rain can be seen as His way of saying “I love you,” “I will refresh your soul,” “I will provide you needs and peace.”

Even if the rain is heavy and you can’t see a way out, your scared and frantic or need to know  how to get to your destination, HE SEES, HE LEADs, HE SUCCEEDS!

Rain. WE can see it as a terrible in-convince  or a way to see HIS mercy and refreshment for your life.

“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.”

Matthew 7:25

“Drip down, O heavens, from above, And let the clouds pour down righteousness; Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.”

Isaiah 45:8

“He gives rain on the earth And sends water on the fields,”

Job 5:10

Rain is a good thang!
